Agenda

7:00 - 7:30pm ET: History of Virtual Reality (VR), types of VR, introduction to the use of the virtual 3-D platform for therapeutic interventions for pain management, and neuromuscular rehab, VR devices, and benefits of incorporating VR in rehab.
7:30 - 8:00pm ET: Distinguish between virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality. List safety considerations and precautions for use of VR. Neural plasticity, pain neuroscience approaches, pain and kinesiophobia, analgesic mechanisms of VR.
8:00 - 8:45pm ET: Mindfulness and VR, documentation of VR interventions, Discussion of the latest research in VR for pain management and rehabilitation.
8:00 - 9:00pm ET: Case studies, discussion of VR research and clinical applicaitons. Question and Answer.
