About this live event
A working knowledge of aromatherapy can add to a massage therapist’s range of modalities and services while benefiting clients in a variety of ways. Basic Aromatherapy for Massage Therapists is a course designed to introduce aromatherapy and the use of essential oils to licensed massage therapists. Students will learn how to identify essential oils that are appropriate for therapeutic use and how to safely handle, store, and incorporate aromatherapy into their massage practices. This course will explore the history of essential oil use as well as our current knowledge and research as to how essential oils affect the body and mind when used in a therapeutic environment. We will take a deep dive into seven essential oils that are great compliments to massage, including their botanical descriptions, therapeutic properties, and how best to apply and combine them. Q&A to follow.
