About this course

In this live interactive webinar, we will cover frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, a common and debilitating condition that causes pain and restricted range of motion in the shoulder joint. The course will explore various topics related to the condition, including its pathophysiology, diagnosis, risk factors, and evidence-based treatment approaches. Attendees will learn about different methods of interventions, including surgical and non-surgical medical interventions, as well as joint mobilizations, passive and active range of motion, strengthening activities, and scapula stability and function. The course will also emphasize the importance of patient education and self-management strategies, as well as effective communication with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes. By the end of the course, attendees will have the tools necessary to effectively manage patients with frozen shoulder, providing high-quality care and improving overall patient function and quality of life.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss and explain the pathology of Frozen Shoulder including the effects on the Gleno-Humeral Joint Capsule.
  • Discuss and describe the progression of the disorder through its phases all the way through return to activities.
  • Compare and discuss the treatments available for Frozen Shoulder through its phases.
  • Explain and Demonstrate rehabilitation treatment concepts and interventions for the clinician who treats Frozen Shoulder.

    Dr. Benjamin Gelfand brings a wealth of experience and proven track record in the healthcare industry. he is a widely-respected authority in sports medicine and rehabilitation, and is best known for founding and building STAR Physical Therapy in New York City, and for his previous role as Director of the Nicholas Institute of Sprots Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT) program at Lenox Hill Hospital (Northwell Health) as well as Chief of Clinical Services at MOTION PT Group. In addition, Dr. Gelfand is an esteemed international speaker, educator and contributing author to many scholarly articles and publications.
